Biography

Birgit Rutishauser Hernandez is the Chief Underwriting & Risk Management Officer at Nationale Suisse. She is fluent in Spanish, French, German, and English. Her areas of expertise include reserving and pricing, underwriting, risk management and reinsurance. She has previously held the position of Head of Direct and Partnership for the Zurich Insurance Company Ltd, for just under 1 year, and Chief Underwriting Officer, Zurich Schweiz, for 4 years. She received er SAV in Actuarial studies from the Swiss Actuarial Society in 2007, her Masters in Mathematics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, 1998, and received an Advanced Management Program Certification from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014 Outside of work Birgit enjoys travel, spending time with family and friends, and staying fit and well balanced.
