Worldwide Association of Notable Alumni Recognizes Gelise McCullough, MPH

Gelise McCullough began her career in advertising in the early 1990's with a Bachelor's degree in Communication from Queen Margaret University. Soon her work took her into communicable diseases namely HIV TB and malaria.  Gelise went on to receive a Master in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). She now has a career with Unitaid working in Geneva and overseeing projects in HIV and HCV that bring much needed diagnostics to resource limited setting.  Gelise has excellent interpersonal skill and through her work has connected to people from different walks of life. She is a painter and uses her art to raises funds to support some of the people she has met - namely HIV positive girls so that they can attend school and aspire to fulfilling lives.  www.gelise.org

Despite her professional success, Gelise is extremely humble and passionate for the human experience. She has aspirations to further support education and enabling young people with limited meant to grow and profit where opportunities are lacking. This August Gelise will be traveling to Kenya to get the girls painting to raise awareness of the stories behind the numbers – she will be seeking support to exhibit this work. Gelise believes that education is essential to the growth of and continued positive changes in society. In her free time, Gelise sails and enjoys writing fiction and poetry. She resides in France.
