In the early 1980's, it became the largest in the United States. Ronald sold his portion of the business in the mid 80s and started Ima Design in 1986. He named his new company "Ima" because in Japanese it means between the past and the future and the company accounts for all of the accomplishments before Ima. Ronald graduated Harvard University with a Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture in 1966 and received his undergraduate degree from California Polytechnic State University. Ronald is a proud Fellow of the American Association of Landscape Architects and has been a Member of the Urban Land Institute since the 1970s.
