Mary G. Gregg, MD, FACS, MHA is an accomplished and Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgeon. Dr. Gregg was named MagMutual’s new Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of the Patient Safety Institute in 2013. MagMutual is the fifth largest leading provider of professional liability insurance to physicians and hospitals in the United States. It's the largest healthcare provider-owned and managed mutual insurer in the Southeast. Dr. Gregg is responsible in providing educational guidance and developing tailor-made patient-safety programs. Dr. Gregg has over two decades of experience in Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery, patient safety and hospital administration in large multihospital system. She is the first female to complete a Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship at a large Midwest healthcare system. She possesses strong leadership skills and a passion for safe practice of medicine. She is dedicated to enhance patient care from professionals committed to patient safety and satisfaction of services rendered. Dr. Gregg received her Medical degree from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 1980. She completed her Cardiothoracic Surgery Graduate Fellowship at Washington University, Barnes Hospital in 1985. Dr. Gregg was awarded her Certificate of Medical Management at the University of Washington in Seattle, as well as her Executive Program Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA) in 2004. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, reading, exercise, gardening, knitting and playing guitar.
