Biography
Dr. Robert Bakko has over 41 years experience as a Psychotherapist. He received his Bachelor in Social Work/Criminology from the University of Montana, in 1973. Followed up by, his Master of Counseling from Luther Theological Seminary, graduating in 1975. Dr. Robert then continued on, to receive his Doctorate of Ministry from Covington Theological Seminary in which he graduated class of 1991. He served as President of the American Mental Health Counselors Association 1999 and State Chapter the Montana Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors Association 1993. Dr. Bakko LCPC, CCMHC, PC, is an original co-founder of the Northwest Counseling Center LLC established in 1985. Dr. Bakko’s general practice includes counseling adults, adolescents, and couples. The practice specializes in group counseling, and forensic evaluations for victims of domestic and sexual violence, and men and women who has served in the military. His approach to counseling includes both faith based and the general practice of clinical counseling. Dr. Bakko also incorporates insight, process theory, object relation theory, cognitive behavioral theory, problem solving, and existential theory. He was prompted into his career due to his genuine passion for helping others.
