Biography

Joanna Cichy is a highly qualified individual in her field; she has conducted numerous research studies and has received numerous awards for her studies. Joanna received her Ph. D. degree in Biochemistry from the Jagiellonian University in 1995. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Wistar Institute, USA and a visiting scholar at Stanford University, USA. Ms. Cichy’s research interest has centered on the role of proteases and protease inhibitors in shaping immune responses and in pathogenesis of auto-inflammatory diseases, including psoriasis. Joanna is a recipient of several national and international awards, including Fulbright Award and FIRCA (Fogarty International Research Collaboration Award). Currently she holds an appointment as a Professor and Head of Dept. of Immunology at the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow Joanna prides herself on her dedication to her job and strives to strengthen the bonds of science by sharing her findings so that she may improve humanity. Joanna is an outstanding woman and she will continue to thrive in her career through her hard work and dedication, she will inspire change everywhere.
