Ava Garbutt is originally from the UK and began her career working for the UK government in 1994. Ava then transitioned to working for HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Alkhalifa from 2005 as an International student advisor. It is easier to assist students when you have had a similar study path which enables you to help them with their international academic journey. Ava is responsible for over 177 students worldwide, from ages 17 up to age 36, who are either pursuing their undergraduate and post graduate degrees or in the work force. Ava has been an innovator of creating internships, community services and been a liaison for employment opportunities for her students all over the globe. Ava is excited to continue networking with global leaders and innovators who are interested in developing opportunities for her students. Ava loves her work with the students and wants to continue to create new opportunities and explore new experiences to help her students so they can learn and grow with an international outlook on life and work ethic. Separately Ava is on the Executive Committee of the Bahrain British Business Forum (BBBF) and Co head of the Young Professionals Special Interest Group (YP SIG). The BBBF was formed in 1995 to promote trade and investment between Bahrain and Britain in a non-discriminatory, non-political and non-profit making manner. The Young Professionals Group was started recently to assist younger professionals with networking skills and giving them the opportunity to meet the countries' high fliers.
