Biography

Abigail Fernandes was always interested in Medicine, which led her to earn her MA in Health Care Administration from Walden University in 2014. At her position with the Emirates Airlines she is a Quality Manager for the Medical Practices on board. Her average day includes working in the lab as a Medical Scientist ensuring an accurate diagnosis of disease states. Besides this, she carries out quality control checks. Is well versed with root cause analysis, risk analysis and audits. Is also a certified ISO 15189 auditor for Emirates Airlines Laboratory She was motivated to enter this profession because she wanted to make a difference in people’s lives, and through quality control she keeps customers safe. In the next 3-5 years she wants to interact more with the public and pave the way for improvements in healthcare. Her keys to success are determination, perseverance, to keep growing, learning, and improving herself in terms of her work. Her biggest achievements are the promotions she earned in her career and her degree that she got while raising 2 small children.
