Maribeth “Beth” Drennen- Bates is Human Resources Manager at Emera Maine, the provider of electric delivery service to the former Bangor Hydro District and the former Maine Public District in northern Maine. With more than 25 years of human resources management experience, she is highly specialized to the individualities of the utilities, communications and manufacturing sectors.

After earning an associates degree in Business from Dutchess Community College, Beth quickly established herself as a rising talent in the HR sector. Prior to joining Emera Maine last year, she served as the Human Resources Manager for Time Warner Cable and spent a decade as Human Resources Manager at Huhtamaki. During the course of her career at Huhtamaki, she was able to bring the company’s unacceptable RIR (Recordable Incident Rate) from 15 down to an amazingly low .78.

Beth has been recognized by the International Women's Leadership Association (IWLA), and was named Top Female Executive in 2016. In addition to her degree, she holds a master’s certificate in Human Resources Management and Services from Villanova University, and later on this year will complete a bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Maine at Augusta.

Beth resides in Gardiner, Maine. Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys spending time in the great outdoors and is an avid reader.
