Worldwide Association of Notable Alumni Recognizes Poonam Heryani

Poonam Heryani has recently become the Head of Research and Development for ASPAM Group of Schools, educational institutions owned by Gulf Petrochem and where she has served as Head of Academics since 2015. With more than 28 years of experience in educational administration and leadership, she ensures a consistent and school-wide focus on student achievement, keeps track of progress with close attention to system and school data. A dynamic and passionate educational leader, Poonam is at the forefront of the digital learning age, as the electronic learning environment is replaces the linear, text-bound culture of conventional schools.

 She views education as the ultimate tool of empowerment and believes in ‘whole person’ education rooted deep in values and ethics. Her leadership has had a profound impact on school’s high academic standards. Owing to her experiences as principal and school administrator, Poonam Heryani is widely recognised as an ambassador for progressive education with a focus on strategic leadership, teacher training as well as curriculum design, delivery and reform.

 Building on the school’s success with ASPAM Indian International School recently being conferred Indywood Education Excellence Award for excellence in Innovative Learning and reaching the top finalists at GESS 2017 Education Award in the category of Best use of ICT in Classrooms and Innovation in Education. Poonam continues to develop its faculty to meet the growing demands of students wanting to join ASPAM International Indian School and benefit from its twenty first century progressive approach to education with focus on personalization.

 As a dedicated practitioner in the field of innovative teaching and learning methodologies, Poonam offers great insights in the field of curriculum design, instruction and assessment, cultural differences, awareness and identity. Outside of her busy work and research schedules, she has spent the last 24 years volunteering for the Educational Activities and Project of Emirates Environmental Group.
