Worldwide Association of Notable Alumni Recognizes Gillian Macintyre

Posted by Worldwide Association of Notable Alumni on May 18th, 2017.

Gillian Macintyre recently retired as the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education in Trinidad and Tobago, a role she’s been in since 2015. She functioned as a Permanent Secretary since 2005 and most of her service in this capacity was in the Ministry of Public Administration. Gillian has also served in the Ministries of Sport and Culture. Some of her responsibilities included giving policy advice to the minister, providing strategic direction and corporate level approval of all Human Resource and accounting functions.

She tells us that the key to her success has been perseverance, and never giving up, and her greatest professional accomplishment has been the rewarding feeling she gets knowing she had a positive impact on society. Gillian did a postgraduate diploma in Human Resource Management, which served her well in her role of helping public service agencies to review their mandate and systems and utilize technology to improve operations. She is an active member of the IPDET evaluation community and hopes to transition to a consulting position in the future.

Gillian attended the Institute of Social Studies receiving her Master’s in Public Policy and received her Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies from Waterloo University. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and travel. She resides in Trinidad and Tobago.

Worldwide Association of Notable Alumni Member Gillian Macintyre can be found on the Association Directory, where she is looking forward to networking with you.
